Vietnamese artist Tuan Mami will perform at the opening of his solo exhibition 'The Cover' at Yunart Gallery tonight at 8:00. Entry is free.

Kunming's own Tribal Moons will be joined by DJ Greg for a night of rock music at Uprock tonight. Music starts at 10:00, entry is 10 yuan.

Saturday: PsyPurim Costume Rave at Laowo Bar
DJ Micro will be playing all night at the Laowo Bar on Saturday night to celebrate the Jewish holiday Purim. Costumes are mandatory and there will be free draft beer and cocktails until midnight. Entry is 20 yuan for women, 30 yuan for men.

Formerly based in Taichung, Taiwan, DJs 3b and Countess Kriz are bringing their HYPER SPACE party to Uprock tonight, featuring funky and tech house and more. Music starts around 10:00, entry is free.

Saturday: No No-Car Day
Kunming's municipal government has temporarily suspended its monthly no-car days, which normally take place on the last Saturday of each month. The massive overhaul of the city's second ring road is the official reason for the suspension. According to Kunming media reports, monthly no-car days will resume once construction of the new double-decker road is complete.

Saturday: Youth art exhibition opening at TCG Nordica
Nordica will host an opening for their youth art exhibition 'The Pictures We See' Saturday night at 8:00. Entry is free.

Saturday: Zhou Yunpeng at Qunide Bar
Blind folk musician Zhou Yunpeng (周云蓬), formerly of influential indie label Modern Sky returns to Kunming Saturday night, playing a 9:30 show at the newish Qunide Bar (去你的吧) on the second floor of the Kundu Business City (昆都商场). Admission is 40 yuan.

The Hump Bar will be throwing a Carneval party Friday night, with Latin music and dancing plus special performances. Caipirinha will be on special for 15 yuan. Music starts at 10, entry is free.

Saturday: Scandinavian movie night at TCG Nordica
TCG Nordica will be hosting Scandinavian movie night on Saturday beginning at 8. The evening's featured film is "Songs from the Second Floor" by Swedish director Roy Andersson. The dark comedy won the Jury Prize at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival. The film will be followed by an English discussion, entry is free.

Saturday: Uprock Carnival costume party with DJ Kris
Uprock will be holding a carnival-themed costume party Saturday night with music provided by DJ Kris. Special punch will be available for five yuan per glass. Music starts at 10, entry is free.

Monday: Lush Farewell Fiesta at Uprock
Argentinian jazz band Lush has been playing six nights weekly at Soho in Kundu over the last several months and are now preparing to head back home. The band will be playing a farewell show at Uprock on Monday night beginning at 10. Entry is 20 yuan.

Friday: Brutal Beatroot at Speakeasy Bar
Tonight Speakeasy Bar will feature the music of Brutal Beatroot, which the bar describes as "non-serious DJs with eclectic tunes, varied BPMs and real snare sounds". Rum and Cokes will be on special for 10 yuan. Music starts at 10 pm, entry is free.

Friday: Fluo Party at Uprock
The blacklights are back at Uprock for another 'Fluo Party' tonight, brightly colored clothing, makeup, chewing gum and other party accoutrements are encouraged. Music will be provided by DJs Tormod and Martin. Music starts at 10 pm, entry is free.

Saturday: Valentine's Dinners at Moonlight Corner
Both Moonlight Corner Thai Restaurants will be offering special Valentine's Day dinners starting at 6:30 on Saturday. Moonlight Corner's Expo Garden location will be offering a set meal, while its Green Lake location will feature a buffet. Sunday: Wei's Closing Party
Wei's one of Kunming's oldest Western restaurants, will close its doors for the last time on Sunday night – but not before having one last party. Sunday night from 7 pm there will be a 20 yuan all-you-can-eat buffet, plus half-price drinks.

A triple birthday party with a Britney Spears theme will be held at Speakeasy Bar tonight, beginning at 10:00. There will be a Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake (and presumably K-Fed) costume contest, with first, second and third prize winners taking home a bottle of bourbon, tequila and red wine, respectively.
