So Delboy's the plonker, not Rodney...
Does anyone know of any? And are there any that can deal with non-Chinese visas - eg Indian. India's now a just 2 hour flight away, but unless some kind of visa service exists, to get a visa you have to go to Hongkong first...
I've recently started teaching at Shanti Yoga. (see www.gokunming.com/en/listings/index.php?category_id=17). So this is biased, but...
We mainly teach vinyasa yoga - along with myself most of the teachers trained with Adrian Cox (www.yogaelements.com/) this summer - which sounds like the sort of thing you're after. For obvious reasons the teaching's in Chinese, but me & one of the Chinese teachers speak English (to a varying extent ;-) )
Full membership is about RMB300 a month. The standard minimum duration is two months, but they should be flexible. (Tell them you want to speak to me - bairui/百瑞 if not) & they do offer a 20 class card as standard too. Classes aren't too big & there's usually 工夫茶 brewing after class. First class is free (at the moment at least)
There's a gym not far from Shanti which offers the usual machines + aerobics, pilates, various styles of dance, kickboxing (and yoga although the classes are huge) but not the Les Mills classes (& so not the awful "body balance" yoga-lite either:) ). Pop into Shanti when you turn up & I'll take you over. (Not sure about their 1 month rates tho - think they might be a bit pricey)
for the acupuncture, see:
www.yunnanclinic.com/
they also offer tai chi with yang chenG long, but is suspect going direct could be a lot cheaper...

Official: Kunming-Kolkata flights by year-end
Posted byDoes anyone have a good idea of the fares? I googled but got a variety different answers. Eg for a return:
INR18,500, inc taxes (=USD470)
INR12,000, ex taxes (=USD300.)
Could taxes really add up to USD170?
And CNY 1,180 (=USD160) "after discount", excluding taxes I guess.
And how can you get a visa for India in Kunming. There's no consulate here - are there visa agents?

Posted byI've visited the Yutao Centre & they have good facilities. But Shanti Yoga is worth checking out. (www.xtyoga.com - unfortunately Chinese only)
I suspect the facilities aren't quite as good (eg no showers in male changing rooms) & it's quite new, so the teachers probably aren't as experienced as at Yutao. The teachers I've had have been good though & it's up to 60% cheaper.
