I checked todays offering on trip.com and see that Lucky Air and four others already have direct flights to Urumqi.
Lucky was the only one that did not show a price for checked baggage and some even included checked baggage in the listed price.
Speaking of prices, they look considerably higher than last June when my wife went.
This just in from Bangkok:
"IMPORTANT UPDATE: Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health has canceled the criteria for vaccination certificates before entering the country on all flights. Effective immediately."
I'm seriously considering changing my route to spend a few days in Hong Kong rather than Bangkok.
If I don't need a covid test to depart Kunming then I can get an English test report there for the Canadian portion of my trip.
No results found.
Had my first ever visit to Slice of Heaven last night for a group party. Barbara recognized me as a newcomer and immediately came to welcome me and introduce herself.
While speaking with her at the counter, a server walked past with a pizza for one table. The aroma immediately caught my attention. It was awesome.
Our group shared 4 different pizzas. All were amazing. I think the sauce really makes the difference since it was very flavourful. I also put back to cups of cappuccino. I guess they must have fixed problems noted in other reviews because I found it to be quite good.
If I lived closer I would be a regular here.
Kunming orders English added to outdoor signs
Posted byThis "strict new regulatory regime" appears to not be working. There are many new shops in our area, including a new Pizza Hut, with Chinese only signs. I guess it's another of those new rules that were created but failed on the implementation.
China considered Myanmar drone strike during manhunt
Posted byThat statement about "drop TNT" may have been taken out of context (or lost something in the translation. The picture of the drone clearly shows missiles are attached.
City may eliminate cigarette sales near schools
Posted byTigertiger, you must be younger than me. When I smoked as a boy there were no restrictions. We just made out purchases out of sight of parents. Times have changed.
City may eliminate cigarette sales near schools
Posted byA day after the new law went into effect we were in a restaurant where ash trays were on the table and people were smoking. We mentioned the new law to the employees. They had not heard about it!
Additionally, the law provides for a minuscule fine to the smoker of only 10 RMB. If they want to stop smoking in restaurants their needs to be a very large penalty to the owners of the establishment. Same for taxi drivers, who are usually the people found smoking in the taxis.
Some amount of enforcement might help!
China, Bangladesh to build overland trade route?
Posted byI'm puzzled. There were several comments on this article when it was first posted, now there are none. Where did they go?
