Forums > Living in Kunming > Anyone know about how a spousal visa works?

From recollection of what they said in Shanghai, but note that Shanghai is not Kunming. My wife has a Shanghai HuKou.

If married and resident in China for 5 years, you can get a residence permit on these grounds. In Shanghai it is valid for 5 years (NB I am UK citizen, there seems to be variation of other rules depending on nationality). We needed to deposit 100 000 rmb in a special bank account that we could not touch for 6 months as a condition.

This residence permit would allow me to work.

At the time we did not have 100 000rmb in cash and so I have moved around the Z visa game since.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Visa run to honkers

I have tried a search on GK, but cannot find anything.

I need to do a visa run to HK for a work visa.
I am currently on a family Visa, can I convert this to 'Z' visa in HK.
I know in 2008 and 2009 you could not.

Anybody any advice?
Please

Even if people are wrong, and bad mouthing you out of turn. You still need to protect yourself from this. There is a reputational risk to your business. Even if some customers do get the wrong end of the stick, you can't blame the customers.

Are avocado seasonal?

I know back home we are used to all seasons fruit, because of flying stuff in globally. But China does less of that.

Just a thought

Blobbles, if there are not trees, you may be able to make out farmers routes on Google Earth. You can sometimes.

If you have personal GPS you could also check progress by pre-defining lat-long from Google Earth before you leave home and write them on a print out.

Just an idea.

A reasonable choice of lumber that has improved over time. Fancy hardwoods like walnut, and mahogany are in abundance. There are some plywood and rubber-wood boards available. There are also some kiln dried imported softwoods and merbao available. Some of the lumber is very green, so look for the kiln dried if you need stable timbers.

Echo everything said by others.
Breakfast great and the serve from 8am. Most other places say 9am and they still are not ready.
Sandwiches are cheap 22-32, and really packed full of filling. We got some sandwiches for a day out, the only mistake I made was ordering two, as this was too much. These are seriously good sangars, and they are wrapped in alu foil.

In fairness to Metro, they are a wholesalers, and not really a supermarket. Hence the need for a card, which can be got around.

They have improved in the year I have been away. They now carry a more consistent range of imported foodstuffs and they also seem to have sorted out the mported milk supply.

They have a wider range of electrical appliances now, there is a coice of more than one toast. There is also a better range of seasonal non foods, like clothes, shoes, garden furniture and camping gear.
