My husband and I will be crossing the border at Hekou on Feb.26 and due to serious asthma he cannot be on a bus with smokers for 8 hours. We are therefore looking for a private driver/guide who could take us from Hekou to Kunming ideally going through Yuanyang for the first night and the next day. Originally I thought we would go thru Jianshui and on to Kunming but I understand that road is under construction and it will take 6 hours from Hekou to Jianshi and anothe 4 to Kunming. If anyone knows a private English speaking driver or a good local agency that could provide this service I would be grateful for the information.
