Popular opinion is to go forward with your project and when you see you make enough profit to justify paying taxes then register.......

Unless, of course, you have to invest considerable ammounts to begin operations........

Forums > Living in Kunming > woodshop and craftmen in Kunming, where?

I agree, most furniture here sucks..

I have the skills to make western style and western quality furniture, thick, solid and beautiful.

Or basic funniture of melamine ( no milk in it..Haa)

Kunming has plenty of the basic wood matreials although I've seen rough wood planks and beams, hard wood and soft wood in western kunming, these can be cut and planed to our specifications .

To work with an existing shop or to form a co-op workshop if there is enough interest.. wood and steel workshop to teach / learn skills.

This could lead into a business.....

Any comments?? Mike

The housing market has cooled, yes, although I wouldnt jump in something right now....even if the banks are giving record low interest rates.

In my opinion, 2 to 3 years time we will see an upward trend in housing market....Why you ask??

The drastic drop in western consumer goods demands will only effect China next year.
Although a slowdown in China's economy will be delayed it wont be as drastic as the toppling domino effect we saw in the western credit system.

One thing to keep in mind is China holds the debt of the USA....the final outcome after this downturn will see China well positioned in the world economy

Geologically, the Yangtze (Jinsha) river used to flow in this valley until the upwards thrust of the yunnan plateau diverted the Yangtze towards shanghai where it presently flows. Sediments cores provide an 11 million year date for the divergence.

KC430,
You are correct on photos....

These mountains had never been flown above their summits with a paraglider wing' let alone cross the gorge and continue to Shangrila in a narrow and marginal weather window. Many in china claimed it was impossible but i knew it's no different than any other location on this planet..
It's sad a few uneducated police officers interpret and apply china's aviation laws to paragliding . The police interpret Nick flying a 747 towards the china/Tibet border but, officially; paragliding is recognized as a sport, not a full sized airplane by the Chinese government, including CAAC.

Nick is a very talented and experienced athlete, Thumbs up for Nick's route..
