Kun Ming Nan Zhan - The new CRH train station is located 500 meters from the corner of Lian Da Street and Jing Ming South Road. The train station is about 800 meters from the north gate of Yunnan Normal University (20 minute walk).
An E-Bike taxi from the Lianda Subway Station to Yunnan Normal University costs 5 Yuan. From the same Lianda Station to the new CRH Train Station is 8-10 Yuan.
Many buses stop directly in front of the north Gate of Yunnan Normal University but there is no official bus stop and there are no signs for any buses.
The Wu Jia Ying Bus Stop on Jing Ming South Road also shares access to the new train station. This stop serves buses 170, 216, C85, C86 and D25. The bus stops directly in front of the Heng Shui Shi Yan Middle School which is about 300 meters from the new CRH train station.
Still a lot of construction going on right now. The road to the train station is still not completed, just gravel and mud. Keep your fingers crossed. The CRH train is expected to begin service in late 2016.
Forums > Living in Kunming > UK Citizens Brexit referendum vote I am confused. How can the UK leave the EU if they were never a member to begin with. REAL EU members share borders with other EU nations and they must give up their own currency in lieu of the Euro currency.
UK is a group of islands - share no borders with any EU nations. When the UK left the EU, did they leave by themselves or did they take Scotland, Ireland and Wales along with them?
UK still uses its own currency. Never gave up its currency and accepted the Euro.
Are there any other EU countries that use their own currency?
If it is as simple as casting a vote, lets see what happens with other EU countries - like Spain, Portugal, Greece. Interesting!!!
Forums > Living in Kunming > Circumcision The main question is - What is the age of the child/person? As there are many issues realting to this based on age.
If a child passes a certain age it is best to wait until the child is older or if the time is right it is best to have it done sooner and not later.
Weishan, Yunnan: Birthplace of an ancient kingdom
Posted byWeishan has got to be one of the most original places left in Yunnan. Not commercialized and people are kind and not out for money.
Jianchuan was also the same but now that the highway runs right through it has already changed. Same for Shaxi and Shuang Lang in Dali.
Visit Weishan while you can. Great place to go and just hang out and relax, Wei Bao Shan is 11 km away. I like it because you can see all the temples by walking in a circle without having to backtrack. Much better than Shi Bao Shan in JianChuan, Dali.
Lugu Lake airport officially opens for business
Posted byThe new airport is roughly 25 kilometers south of the lakeshore - Those nasty taxi drivers are sure going to make a killing. Of course, they will NOT use the meter.
Yunnan border zone slated to cost 200 billion yuan
Posted byThe train sure does sound like a good idea - In that time, a branch railway along the recently opened Kunming-Hekou line will be extended 500 kilometers south to the border town of Mohan (磨憨) in Mengla County. When finished, the railway will pass from Yuxi through Pu'er, Jinghong and Mohan
Yunnan ramps up shale gas production

Sichuan's Changning County (长宁县) is located in Yibin at the confluence of the Min and Yangtze Rivers.
Fracking comes to Southwest China
Posted byUnfortunately, the map provided with the locations of fracking is very small and I can not make out the names of the locations. However, one can see that they are in the SE of Sichuan.
I will take some time later to make out the exact locations and provide the names of the prefectures and counties they are located in.
For those who are not aware, this is the juncture of the Min and Yangtze Rivers. Above Yibin, the Yangtze is also known as the Jinsha River. Below Yibin, the Yangtze is known in Chinese as the Chang Jiang or "Long River."
