Funny how the MSM says nothing about what is going on in Anahein in the last few days.
You can call or write a message to the mayors Hotline (12345). They will resolve your problem within 3-5 days. There are many rules but they are not enforced. If you call the hotline, they will enforce the rules. They will levy fines and give you a reply on the action they have taken.
I agree with you Tonyaod, this topic does come up rather frequently. I am surprised that someone who has interest in coming to Kunming does NOT have other questions other than if people will stare or if he can find a chinese gf. If needles asks about where to buy a scooter or helmet I will go bonkers.

The new Visa office is located at 118 Tuo Dong Road. There is no number on the building yet so do not bother to look for it. There are 2 passport photo shops on either side of the building. The office is located directly in front of the Kunming Museum. The bus stop is named - Shi Bo Wu Guan - Bus 1, 62, 109, 117, 145, 213, A1 and K3 stop directly in front of the office. Foreigners need to go to the 3rd floor. The Tuo Dong Stadium is located to the right of the office while Baita Road is located to the left of the office.

He will just build a bigger house in his village to show off. Look in a lottery store and you will see the people spend hours in there staring at the previous numbers trying to figure out the magic formula for the next winning numbers. Posted by90 days for S2 visas and 120 days for Q2 visas.
I dont think it is a good idea as you must come and go every 120 days.
The Residence Permit allows you to stay without having to leave every so often.
