The new highway from Dali or Lijiang can take you to Jian Chuan where you can visit the 1000 Lion Mountain, Jian Chuan Old Town, Shaxi Old Town, and Stone Treasure Mount (Shi Bao Shan).

You can rent a taxi from Jianchuan for 200 Yuan. The taxi will take you to all 3 temples in Stone Treasure Mount and bring you back to Jianchuan. - You can also do the entire loop for 250 Yuan. Jianchuan to Shi Bao Shan then on to Shaxi and then back to Jianchuan.

I recommend you stay an extra day and climb 1000 Lion Mountain. I really like this place.

桥头 qiaotou - is NOT the same as Qiantou.

Do you mean the Qiaotou in Hu Tiao Xia in Shan Gri La in Diqing? Near Tiger Leaping Gorge.

Tiger Leaping Gorge is at the border between Lijiang and Diqing. If this is where you are then follow the advice given to you above by Voltaire.

If you gave us the chinese would be most helpful.

If you told us where it is would be most helpful.

Is it in Dali or Lijiang or Sichuan, etc?

Most people know where Jianchuan and Shaxi is but most people have no idea what/where Qiantou is.

huoche.911cha.com/Z162.html - Did I miss something or did I include this link in my previous post.

I think checking the train website I posted above will generate more speedy and accurate results rather than coming to ask this same question in this forum. It is a great website to save to your favorites.

However, if feeling bored and lonely because of lack of friends or spouse (social interaction), I guess this is probably the best way to garner some attention.

This thread is about the train schedule to Beijing. Stay on topic and stop. . . Haha!!!

Just yesterday I watched something about this on the bus. The Customs folks stopped and confiscated a few big trucks on the road from Puer. The trucks were not refridgerated so this is one of the cause of the problems. So if the meat did make it in to its final destination it had to be repacked and refrozen after the long trip. Perhaps the meat in the center of the truck can keep but surely not the meat on top or the sides.

Since I live on Zhao Zong Road I decided to pay this reservoir a visit via bus #7 which is 2 stops from my home.

The first thing I noticed is that there is plenty of constructuion going on - a new retaining wall is being built as well as a brand new pumping faciltiy with several large pipes to divert the water.

At the time this article was written, this reservoir may have just been a pond but that is no longer the case. "There are no pumping facilities or drains at Zhaozong Reservoir — it is simply a large pond".

The construction workers said that because water is such a precious commodity in Kunming every drop will be put to use in the near future.

Bus #7 to the Zhao Zong Yi Zu Cun Kou Bus Stop. Turn left when you see the Long Hua Temple a few meters before the main entrance to Sen Lin Hu = Forest Lake = 森林湖.

There were at least 20 redundant signs on the walking trail every 10 meters that clearly read - NO SWIMMING!

The new Visa office is located at 118 Tuo Dong Road. There is no number on the building yet so do not bother to look for it. There are 2 passport photo shops on either side of the building. The office is located directly in front of the Kunming Museum. The bus stop is named - Shi Bo Wu Guan - Bus 1, 62, 109, 117, 145, 213, A1 and K3 stop directly in front of the office. Foreigners need to go to the 3rd floor. The Tuo Dong Stadium is located to the right of the office while Baita Road is located to the left of the office.
