legislation that will ban Chinese women from marrying non-Chinese men, with the law coming into effect at the beginning of 2018 (The race is on to the marriage office).
Following decades of the one-child policy, China is now faced with a shocking gender imbalance – for every girl below the age of 18 in China, there are now three boys (1:3).
www.51test.net/show/5315044.html - More women are now attending college or university. (Female 54% Male 46%). This trend is similar across all provinces in China. Educated females seek educated men.
We need to ensure there are enough Chinese women available for marriage.
One of the more controversial aspects of the new law is the fact that Chinese men are not banned from marrying women of other races. Because we have such a shortage of women in China, we need to make sure Chinese men have as many opportunities as possible to find a bride.

Prepare an exit strategy - Better safe than sorry. In times of turmoil all things change quickly and people and countries act in self-interest. Get certified to teach in ANY country. Travel to neighboring countries to see if they are both Chinese and laowai friendly. Cambodia has few restrictions on visas (6 mos - 1 yr) for both foreigners and chinese. Most importantly, prepare your chinese wife to work or teach abroad. Many things can be done now in preparation because it is never too late to learn and re-learn.
For those of us who have been married for more than 5 years we ALL need to go to PSB and apply for the Green Card. Regardless of how many hoops we must jump through (time, expense, etc) I think it is in our best interest to get this done - the more the better, the sooner the better.
2008 - 2016 - A lot has changed in the last 8 years since the Olympics opened the floodgates to foreigners.
There are many examples in history where people did NOT see the writing on the wall until after it was too late. What goes around comes around - the US has done this many times.

After I visited there we tried to get a solar/elec car and bring it to KMG but when we inquired here they are NOT allowed. Lets see if this chnages the rules here so we can get our own and not have to buy the only one they offer from Hangzhou.
