Pitching a giant makeshift tent wouldn't suffice. Ventilation and heating for 5 degrees Wuhan weather.

Separate rooms for suspected cases in quarantine. Better reception floor design to handle high occupancy to avoid congestion and stampede.

What really matters are enough well trained personels in handling contagion with abundant supplies and equipments to tackle worst possible scenario of outbreak panic.

Currently the mortality rate in China is 3.67% (calculated by 41 deaths divided by 1118 confirmed cases) if contracted. 6.6% in Wuhan.

Imagine for every 100 times you cross the street, 3 to 4 times you'd fall dead.

Enough reason to take Geezer's advice to just stay home (unless absolute necessary) to avoid the risks.

New confirmed cases in both Lijiang and in Xishuangbanna. On top of the three cases in Kunming. Bringing total to five in Yunnan.

I believe Yunnan Province has also joined Beijing and Shanghai in raising the public emergency safety awareness to the highest level 1, whatever that means.

Dan, worldwide death from SARS reached 774. Why skew the data to fit your narrative?

Conversely, just because the Spanish flu killed more in two years than all traffic accidents combined doesn't mean drivers shouldn't be cautious behind wheels by buckling up.

Many experts argued that '03 SARS (as Geezer pointed out) would've resulted in far fewer fatalities had the government released facts earlier without worrying about potential, political fallout.

Just updated by a reputable news source, NYTimes (blocked in Mainland),

"Dr. William Schaffner, professor of preventive medicine and infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center... reiterated that travelers should practice 'good hand hygiene,' and try to avoid anyone coughing and sneezing."

I agree we should refrain from mass hysteria. Rather, remain vigilant and properly informed. Social media panic has already been unleashed. N95 masks are in short supply and in high demand. This is unfortunate for many holiday travelers.

Clicking on individual province tab reveals cities infected. Apparently both incidents in Yunnan are in Kunming City.

Police ought put their citywide cameras to good use to track their whereabouts history in Kunming prior to quarantine, if they left airport at all.

Thank you for working overtime!

For second link, are these officially confirmed numbers by the government? Reported death tolls and transmission figures are higher than those of "live updated" ones on western news sites.
