Forums > Living in Kunming > airport buses on Christmas day Does anyone know if there's a phone number for the airport buses or if they run on Christmas day (tomorrow)?
Yes, I have checked for answers in the old threads on here but can't find the specific information I need.
Thanks in Advance and Merry Christmas to you all!
Forums > Living in Kunming > Gift shopping in Kunming for a local Take her shopping? If you can't deal with shopping with the other half you could draw your own 'gift voucher' and/or pay the bill at the end - a universally accepted gift voucher. Hongbao? I mean who doesn't like cash, right?! How about you get a friend to order online for you?
Forums > Living in Kunming > where to buy apple computer screwdrivers... Try the small hardware shops on almost every street if you'd prefer to buy from B&M stores. There are a few near the junction in the middle of Beichen zhong lu. They are easier to get on Taobao and no doubt cheaper for the same or better quality. I got a small set online for less than 10rmb delivered.
Forums > Living in Kunming > Help traffic tickets I think the 12 month period is according to the start date of your license. so if your driving license was first issued on May 1st your 12 month period is May 1st until April 30th the following year. at least, that's how the traffic police in Kunming explained it to me last year.
There used to be people standing near the traffic police stations (the place that issue the fine/tickets) that would sell you their points but they weren't there the last time I went.
Forums > Living in Kunming > International Post Office By the way, for anyone in a similar situation, China Post handle most Royal Mail parcels once they arrive in China. Couriers often hand over packages to EMS or even SF Express once they arrive on the Chinese mainland.
Sacred mountains, ponies and an obscure Tibetan festival in Yunnan
Posted byThank you GoKM. I (almost) always enjoy the travel type articles. Even though it's not the first time Nizu (or Niru) has been featured on this website, at least you've brought it to the attention of travellers before the coach loads of litter-dropping tourists arive or before it's swallowed and 'improved' by the national park. Funny (NOT), that was the fate predicted in this 2015 article:

Accidentally celebrating the end of Buddhist Lent in Laos
Posted byThanks Sean. A really interesting read - more relatable and less of a corporate sheen. Some lovely pictures in there too. We could all use a break from our phones sometimes but the 'always on' Wechat is quickly becoming a fact of everyday life in China, epecially for those in work. This was another little reminder that life is beautiful.
