My studies were pretty broad. Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics, phonology, Linguistic ideology, phonetics, post structuralism (a favourite)....... We could start with a 'What is....?' type paper. For example LANGUAGE IDEOLOGY by Kathryn Woolard, which describes and discusses conceptions of language ideology? I have a disk full of pdfs, and can easily e-mail it to everyone?

Hi all, I've bumped in to a fair few people whilst living out here that share an interest in Linguistics.

Would anyone be interested in being part of a group, that meets once every couple of weeks to discuss a text chosen in the previous meeting? and so on.....

It's fun reading, but also fun to share.
