My boyfriend and I arrive in kunming on Tuesday around 10am. We have some time in kunming before a 9pm flight from kunming to li Jiang. Does anyone have suggestions for things to do in kunming for that short amount of time? We wanted to go to the stone forest initially but are not sure if we will have time/are not sure about all of that traveling in one day. Any easy day trips that are also fun would be so appreciated!

I'm traveling to yunnan next week. I've been studying mandarin for a while in beijing and my language skills are pretty solid here. I'm worried about how difficult the language barrier will be in Yunnan though, especially because I'm not traveling with other Chinese speakers. Is it possible to get by with putonghua?

I'm planning a trip around yunnan with my boyfriend next week. We are spending one night in Dali and still have not figured out exactly how we are getting back to the airport in kunming before our 9pm flight. I know you can get buses from xiaguan to kunming, but I'm wondering if I need to book these in advance? And also are there any buses that actually go straight to the airport?
Any specific infor about this transportation would be so appreciated!
