I fully agree with Yuantongsi stay with your F visa as long as you can. Z visa is now these days very complicated and if you get Z visa you have to pay tax.

Things are getting tough these days with L visa. Latest is to get extension for L visa for one month you have to have Bank guarantied letter for 20,000 Yuan. With that letter and application form you apply in visa office Beijing Lu for extension.

I got my Chinese driver license two weeks ago from traffic control department of the public security organ. I only had to do medical and theory test because I have foreign driver license. If you don't have one you have to do it from scratch trough driving school. There is no short cut to a license.
