Forums > Living in Kunming > Why do Foreign Companies come and go in Yunnan?

I'm no defender but trying to offer some different perspectives.

The first question is: R u engaging to a real business here no mater suffering or profiting? If YES, your arguments would be more convincing. If not, I'd like to share:

About the "retreat": No any economic entity can/should boom forever. It will only drive the world to crisis or disaster. No matter how "Great" Chinese claim China is, it will meet its half time anyway. Currently, some multinationals are retreating from China (to some less developed Southeast Asian countries as I know) just like the way they went overseas from their sweet homeland in the past. I don't think it is a bad thing since its engine has run this planet too hot you know. World requires balance. Nothing worth surprise at all.

About the "steal": I'd say better not to confuse "idea" with "business". Ideas worth little before effective inputs and outputs. This is a cyber-era, ideas get "stolen/copied" is only a matter of time. Meanwhile, "practice" doesn't mean "feasibility" or "competitiveness". U know, over 70% brand-new smart "ideas" funded by VC fail eventually. Also, no American would worry about that Starbuck would get stolen by Chinese for instance.

About the "invention": Come on archaeologists... ancient gunpowder with different formula, mirror,compass... Even if this country invented bloody nothing, what bother? Few come here for cutting edge stuffs labeled "Invented by China" I assume. BTW, I like the idea of invention "Mixian". Very forgetive! About the "tea", strictly,it is the earth where we stand invents it.

All in all, I believe people only come and live here for good reason.

Bless!

@laotou wow, seemingly you've mapped out and profiled the major café in KM. I'm gonna try one by one. Obviously, most of them are clustered around the neighborhood of Green lake. However, what I know is that there are a great number of grand malls springing up in this city. In your view, ain't these spots attractive for café Cheers man :)

Hi man, it's a trifle but quite annoying. Plaster—腻子粉 or 双飞粉 Here are the options:
1. check out your neighborhood for deco-store
2.search it online taboo.com

3. use your imagination to doodle it
4. just let this 3 inches be :o

good luck
