Brand is not only about a name or symbol but being with essential intangible EQUITY. Can the intangibles be copied? What is difference btw steal and infringement? Think twice. If we just focus on the "individual"level, yep, it was stolen. But if we talk about the "national" level, wasn't Starbucks defended by the Chinese authorities which means much more? Try to see the upside man.
Obviously, a rapid expanding nation tends to attract more judgement and attention. Here I'd like to share u a German case if u get that time and curiosity : "Rocket Internet" company

U've got an ambitious c-plan seriously. I'd like to do some cycling but yours is too big. 2-week at least? Considering your Chinese skill, try to find at least one companion. U will not get lost but just in case.

Join a local group is not recommended as it varies in quality in terms of service and offering. Most importantly, the group mates tend to be most middle-aged. U got no way to communicate and enjoy well.
So, the best solution is:1, buy u a train ticket 2, book a hostel 3, find cohort companies in Dali and Lijiang.
