Forums > Living in Kunming > Who's working from home / running a business here? @Huiman, I'm just interested in seeing if there is anyone in a similar boat as me, maybe interested in grabbing a cup of coffee or a bite to eat.
@Xiefei, do you have an recommendations for cafes with fast internet? I usually work from home but it'd be nice to get out every once in a while.
Forums > Living in Kunming > Who's working from home / running a business here? I just moved here from Shenzhen to see if I can run my business remotely. I get the feeling the majority of the expats are teachers here, any entrepreneurs or digital nomads?
Forums > Living in Kunming > June - August in Kunming. Any suggestions? Dazzer - thanks but Qingdao is a bit to hot for me still.
For the others, Green Lake seems nice but will I benefit much with the Uni's being closed? I've studied in a Chinese university a while ago, but not sure what it's like in between semesters.
I wouldn't say I need a Starbucks, but it would be nice to be able to take my laptop somewhere and meet people while getting work done.
It's probably best for me to take a trip over and see things for myself but all of these suggestions are very helpful.
Forums > Living in Kunming > June - August in Kunming. Any suggestions? I'm thinking about spending the summer in Kunming. I run a small business with an office in Shenzhen and absolutely hate the SZ heat in the summer. But I usually have to stay in China or close by. Kunming seems like a good option, apart from the rain.
From the looks of it here, KM seems like the majority of the expats are teaching. Is anyone here working remotely or running a startup?
If I were to move here, where would be a good area to live? During the day I am mainly working, I'm not too picky about anything, I get KM isn't going to be developed as Shenzhen. I think I am just looking for a nice area to work, relax and meet people.
I'd probably end up renting a single or two bedroom apartment so I could get work done.
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
