Forums > Living in Kunming > Increased anti-foreigner sentiment?

Begs the question, which "laws and regulations" are they talking about this time.

In Chinese jargon everything here always happens and has happened according to relevant laws and regulations.

Only noteworthy change would be, if "local circumstances and implementations" (= power of local leadership to adjust those) would be removed from picture.

Otherwise it's just blah.

Forums > Living in Kunming > WeChat/Weixin connection problems

I have recently had frequent problems with my WeChat, in particular getting it to connect to the relevant services after reading a QR code.

I would guess that the the servers might be busy and unstable with everyone having to read QR codes at CoVid checkpoints so frequently.

Best glitch yet happened today at one street food joint, where I could not make the payment UNTIL I enabled VPN - which was pretty funny in Chinese context.

Also with those spouses that don't have Kunming hukou, the family reunion visa cannot (or couldn't anyway) ever be longer than your spouse's remaining residence permit in Kunming, which in my case was always 1 year. Been on work RP for a while now so don't know latest.

Since this website serves foreigners (and locals) not just in Kunming but wider in Yunnan province, I wonder if something to reflect that could be arranged in regards of this PSB cooperation.

At least my personal observations of matters related to organized crime is not so much in Kunming, but outside it.

The first episode left a bit hasty picture. in my opinion in line with what Kunming is - a crossroads city to spend a day, max two, on way to other tourist sites in the province..

Personally I would have liked seeing more in depth stuff, not just the 2-3 highlights available on any travel guide.

But probably cannot do much more in few minutes show, and also why I don't epect much more from the coming episodes.

@vicar: "I know how to keep toilets clean"

In most public toilets in city (and beyond) that I have seen, they have a cleaning person stationed on the premises. I don't know know if they even go home for nights.

In many countries that alone would be considered a huge investment, but obviously not in China.
