@lemon

That's what I think too, but these other guys are speaking about the accommodation registration from local police station as "residence permit", and that paper is something that every tourist should have too - even if staying in hotel, hotel staff does the registration on their behalf.

The residence registration from local police station is something that every random visitor should have, I doubt they mean that. It would mean tourists are eligible too.

Residence permit on other hand is what you get on your passport at Entry & Exit Administration in Tuodong Lu.

For international SWIFT transfer the last time I sent EUR to China was January or so.

Already a while before that there was a change in regulations on Chinese side, that you have to clearly indicate the purpose of the transfer in the message field of the SWIFT transfer (for example "money for personal expenses"). Otherwise the money will get stuck in the Chinese bank and not go into your account until you go clear this in person.

For domestic transfers of small sums, at least I have option in WeChat to transfer money from WeChat wallet to the domestic bank that is linked to my WeChat account. There is a small fee and I assume some limit. But if it's not a large sum, and your only concern is to get the money to your Chinese bank, that would be my suggestion.

Probably they want it to be the medical part of employers' social insurance contribution, not a commercial insurance.

Curious why though - if it is about state paying for the vaccination, then I'd expect a "customer" paying instead (however much is needed) to be fine.

So I suspect it is about wanting to limit legal issues arising from possible rare side-effects or other accidents.

The text is really not clear about that point. Schengen visa does indeed allow you to travel freely within the Schengen area, but entering the Schengen area is not that simple.

Generally you are required to apply for visa via the consulate of country of entry to Schengen area. If you fly from Kunming to Paris, you may have to apply Schengen visa from French consulate - Czech or other countries' consulates may refuse the application.

Flight ticket reservations (round-trip China-Europe-China) are usually required, so they see what your entry point is. In above example, Czech immigration probably does not want to take responsibility if you fly to France and then decide to stay there as illegal immigrant.

But if your flight ticket allows cancellation and changing the point of entry after you get the visa, you are probably fine. Though I would not be surprised if there are questions on arrival passport check.

Has a foreigner team ever participated in the race in Kunming? What would it take to get one started for coming years?
