Forums > Living in Kunming > Mac Book Pro Power Cord!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. For the record, after nudging the Apple store to order one they agreed at 700Kuai. My son went to Yi Er Yi and was told the price was 900 kuai. He negotiated and got it down to 350. Just in case anyone else runs in to the same thing. Still cheaper than they sell in the US and I didn't have to wait 10 days for shipping. It's a win! Thanks again.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Acupuncture/Massage

Cheers all! I'm a big fan of acupuncture and massage back in the states. I've had great practitioners and ineffective ones as well. My experience with both is to go on recommendation as some are just not up to par. With that said, Any recommendations. Disposable needles only and of course a good vibe is a good place to begin. Thanks in advance.

Forums > Living in Kunming > Just landed. Looking for an apartment

Thanks! I'm sure there are other areas, I would have loved the luxury of time to suss it out. I suppose I took the easy option choosing Winlin Jie. But we did find a place and the agent was incredibly helpful and negotiated on my behalf where none of the others bothered. I found a rather large 2 bed fully furnished (not the tacky stuff) and agreed to paint myself for 200 off asking so I landed what seems like a decent place for 2600 kuai - I've been fortunate to have a Chinese friend from NY be home and willing to tap into all of her family connections to help. All and all this made the process far less painful than most.

A side note. I'd love to recommend my agent - she's across from the Yunnan Gates just before heading up the hill on Winlin Jie, there are two agencies. She's at the one to the left of you're facing them. Her name, my best pinyin approximation, is Zeng Jing and she was lovely, not a lot of English, but you could tell she had your best interest at heart.
