Brooklyn doesn't have a distinctive type of pizza, at least to this Brooklyn native's taste. The thin crispy crust is a New York City thing that can be found in all five boroughs. With that said I can honestly say that the pizza they sell very much reminds me of my neighborhood pizza shop. So there you go. Congrats guys - you did it!!
As promised, bumping this thread to let Kunming's Latin dancers know it's going down this Friday night @ the Mask. I'll be spinning from midnight-2am. #Tumbao, #AfroCuban, #Dominicana, #P.R, #Columbia, #NYC!!!
Are there places in Kunming selling electronics like the Zoom H2N, or even basic adaptor cables? I strolled the guitar district shops near Yunnan University but they pretty just sold guitars and related products. Couldn't even find a basic RCA cable.
I only performed a couple times, but I have lots of friends back in New York City who were part of the scene there. Would love to see a scene develop here, as it would give me a reason to try to bring them over. A friend of mine Kid Lucky organized a yearly event called the American Human Beatbox Festival at LaMama Theater. You can check out Kid Lucky, Jflo, Kaila Mullady, D-Cross, Baba Israel on the web. They are all nice!
Hello Binta and GoKunming, I too am newly arrived in Kunming and in the process of getting settled. I was thrilled seeing this thread as I am a DJ from Brooklyn NY where I did LOTS of parties for those latin dances. Any New Yorkers out there? Wassuppp?!!!! And thanks mPRin for your suggestions, as you've given me a place to start searching for gigs. I will mos def keep the Latin dance massive updated once I start spinning parties. See y'all on the dancefloor!
