I can't really add much more to what Ahmet has said. Kunming is a decent place to live and a good base from which to travel in Asia but it's certainly no HK or Shanghai. That said, you say you've lived in Bradford so I would imagine that almost anywhere, certainly Kunming, would seem like a paradise in comparison.
Go the the place on WLJ near Chapter One. Nice people and they've so far kept me looking as devilishly handsome as when I arrived.
Having decided to distribute some of my fortune to people back home in the west, does anyone know the easiest and cheapest way to wire money back? I'd like to avoid speaking or reading Chinese if possible. Western Union seems the logical choice so how expensive and easy is their service?
