Hello,
My family and I are looking at different areas of Kunming, and wondered if anyone can tell me generally what sort of area Panlongjiang is?

Is it quite industrial or fairly quiet? Is it safe generally, or not so? (By Kunming standards! I know Kunming is a safe city in general). Would it be a nice enough place for a family to live?

Would anyone be able to tell me what 'District' I'd be looking for, if I'd like to live within a km or two of the Green Lake area (ie the West/NW/SW) of Kunming centre?

Would this be Xishan, Jinning, Wuhua? Maps of Kunming with districts in pinyin are quite difficult to find online!

We have stocked up on a few condiments etc, but wondered if we need to bring honey too. Fussy 4 year olds...

Hi,
We'd like our children (4yr old twins) to participate in a local preschool/kindergarten while we are living in Kunming.

I know I'll need to approach the school(s) individually, but can anyone tell me the names/locations of these in Kunming? Or recommend how I should go about finding them? I speak/read only basic Mandarin.

Does anyone have any advice on finding someone to help out with the kiddies, house, and Mandarin tutoring (for the kids) in Kunming? Should I rely on word-of-mouth when we arrive, or is this site the best way to find someone like this?
