To those who are not satisfied: someone once said that if you are unhappy about something in society, to the point where you are frustrated to action, perhaps something good will come out of it. Maybe you should look into not only allowing the people the pleasure of hearing your thoughts but also the opportunity to taste the fruits of your actions. Often times this is how entrepreneurs are born. This thread will be forgotten, if you make something of it real change could come.
It's interesting to walk on the other side of the fence...
It's really good to hear a little about your endeavor. You mentioned sometimes when listening to others it may sound a little depressing or paranoid, well it's because many ppl didn't go about it carefully. And truth be told that's not actually a bad thing. At the very least you come out with many lessons, and need to be determined and resourceful to continue.
In my personal opinion, I think you're on the right track. You have an open mind, are flexible and dynamic, calculated the potential risks, and have, in your view, a solid business plan. A wealthy backer is a plus one!
Live it like you'll succeed and you will. Success doesn't come in a straight line. Continue to be dynamic and never lose sight of your target. Keep us posted!
Also, last thing. Often times when you want to be enterprising you have to just do it and learn as you go! That's why there is no 1, 2, 3s for starting your business, it's all a big fun mystery.
The email seems very vague. Although I can see how you may interpret it as missionary work, it is not definitive.
However with my limited experience here, I have heard of quite a few groups and individuals with missionary means thru channels such as networking or enterprising. Not surprising, in my view.
Hi guys, I'm wondering if by any chance Google has faults in its search and I'm overlooking any expat forum for Lijiang. I'll be traveling to Lijiang frequently for the next few months and would like to familiarize myself with the city starting with the expat and tourist scene.
Thanks guys, from your advice I have purchased a few nicely done jade and silvery pieces — at quite a bargain. They are authentic and made good gifts for friends back home.
I have noticed the local instant coffee being packaged as beans, this was kind of surprising initially but only shed light on Chinese style business. Anyways, I have found a few brands doing coffee beans as I wanted to take some local coffee back as well to showcase. Some of which were well received.
Heading to Myanmar in the next few weeks and didn't know what to expect. This is a nice little teaser and introduction to the beautiful and quaint Myanmar people go to visit.
Excellent article! Very informative piece on an obscure but snowballing impact of Chinese tourists on neighboring countries. Sure China has the most number of millionaires in the world but a slow growth in the middle class, who are also curious and travel hungry, will spark budget / mid level tourism. Thanks for the write up.
I believe the top boys in the Yunnan government are very progressive minded, perhaps stemming from links to the central government in Beijing. I'm glad to see not only development initiative but also outreach to the community.
Fun read, got to love the excitement and buzz over the new airport. I expect a lot more to come with Kunming's rapid development, as you guys have noted! I feel quite fortunate to be able to witness this transitioning period of a Chinese city.
Had sometime to drop by quickly for some breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere ordered the focaccia sandwich which was nice with the chutney and had a cup of coffee that hit the spot. Both came promptly and were delicious. Didn't get to spend too much time due to an appointment but glad I got a chance to make it out. Will return.
Overall very good brunch experience. Had the eggs benedict, which was a pleasant menu for a young city like Kunming. The bloody mary and coffee was also very good. Atmosphere is a cozy outdoor veranda feel which is lush and airy although amongst a few buildings. Hope they continue the focus on quality and innovation.
Great people who care about what's going on in the shop, everything from the bread to the drinks to the atmosphere. Hope this place keeps promoting the homemade, feel good ingredients type of atmosphere!
A solid place. Great food. Extensive menu. I heard it's been around for a while, interesting to see how it grows with Kunming's fast development with the rest of wenlinjie changing quite fast.
