Fortunately this is not the EU, and China won't commit a suicide in the name of tolerance...
We're going to these countries (starting with Vietnam, then Cambodia, Thailand, Laos) with my girlfriend on this saturday, hetszunyu at gmail dot com . The Vietnam and Cambodia visas are ready in 2 days here. The Laos consulate is lazy and charges extra for being fast, and last time when I went there at 15.30 they told me that the day is over for them, although it should be open until 16.00. BTW going off the beaten track can be hazardous in Cambodia (the lonely planet practically has a warning about minefields on every second page :D ).
I forgot that washing machine is preferred :)
