Forums > Travel Yunnan > Best place to buy train tickets?

There is a small train ticket office on Kunshi Lu (昆师路) - Kunshi Lu doesn't have any street signs, it is the first road on your right as you walk downhill on Jianshe Lu from its intersection with Wenlin Jie. After turning onto Kunshi Lu, walk about 75-100 meters until you find an alley on the left (south) side of the road. about 15 meters into the alley you should find a train ticket office on the left (east) side of the alley. Usually there aren't many people in line there, if there is a line at all. Good luck!

I just discovered that the Fisherman's Bar in Kunming Zoulang (hidden to the west of New Southwest Shopping Mall at Renmin Zhong Lu/Qingnian Lu) has shisha - orange, apple, grape, mint, mango, banana, etc. Large portions are 50 kuai and smaller ones are 38 kuai. Bring your own tunes....

There are several computer markets throughout Kunming, most notably on the periphery of Yunnan University. External hard drives are plentiful and tend to be quite reasonably priced.

Hi Brian, cyskmg,

We have a list of galleries here: www.gokunming.com/en/listings/index.php?category_id=94

Feel free to suggest additions to any of our listings via this form: www.gokunming.com/en/listings/add.php

We always put any exhibitions/exhibition openings we hear about on our calendar... the main problem is there aren't so many. TC/G Nordica and Yunart tend to be the main galleries for exhibitions, but we're happy to mention exhibitions at other venues.

Please feel free to send us information about any art events via our contact form: www.gokunming.com/en/contact/contact.php

Thanks,
Chris

Actually Bernie, I would say this is a legitimate post for a forum...

There is a rapidly growing Spanish-speaking population in Kunming including people from Spain, Colombia, Mexico, the US, Canada and elsewhere. I don't know if there are many people looking to practice their Spanish, but maybe you can find someone via our classifieds section. Also, the Hump Bar occasionally hosts Latin-themed parties -- there is plenty of Spanish spoken at these events. I hope that helps. - Chris

Four stars for a great restaurant with friendly staff.

I give Tusheng Shiguan a fifth star for its goal of promoting environmentally sound food production.

My favorite Tengchong-style restaurant in Kunming. Their ersi and erkuai are trucked over from Tengchong and are the real deal — Kunming ersi and erkuai do not compare.

The restaurant itself is a bit jumbled, but there are a couple of tables outside in the courtyard that are nice to sit at when the weather's pleasant.

Don't believe them when they say they don't have lufu.

Tom and Jiajia have been baking up a storm lately. Thanks to them I have delicious sourdough bread to toast on the space heater in the office.

The Bircher muesli is probably the healthiest and most delicious breakfast around.

Pound for pound, one of the best little Western restaurants in China. 佳佳万岁

Just had gnocchi in mushroom sauce and a glass of wine for dinner on the balcony in mid-January. Awesome.
