Aren't you being a bit naive mate? Sure the guy sounds like a douche (or an in-over-his-head 23 year old in a bad situation, who knows?) but you're talking about the police, badgering his work mates for information and blaming his school for not providing you with his class schedule. 1.Based on your post I can't see he's done anything illegal. 2. Any workmate would be better off not getting involved. 3. I'm fairly sure even in China they're not allowed to hand out personal information to random people.

I don't even know why you're posting here since clearly there's no legal case. If you just want to vent that's fine I guess, but I hope you're not trying to rile up GoKunming and the forum people to dish out 'justice' in a case we know nothing about, a guy we don't know and a messed up personal situation we only get to hear from one side.

Don't get your hopes up. This is China, they'll just grab anything from the internet for free and not care about who has which rights. They had a huge Arnold Schwarzenegger sign outside a gym in Beichen for years and somehow I doubt he got compensated.

Has anyone considered that Crazy.Laowai might be a troll? He's been writing slightly off posts and threads since before he (supposedly) came to Yunnan. Also, he seems to be running into an awful lot of trouble ("Help me buy a scooter!", "Want to pay 100 kuai for a Chinese tutor", "Kunming this and Kunming that", I'm sure you can find more examples easily on his posting history). To be honest, some of his writing reminds me of Gaoxing but of course from a different angle. He's either a bit weird or a troll IMO.

Let me be the first to offer a very sincere "Yawn" and a good luck with the project. I don't mind cycling per se but after having experienced traffic in China I would much rather donate to research into human teleportation so we can avoid spending time dodging cars and sidestepping scooters in the deadly chaos known as the Kunming streets. Can you imagine what it will be like in 5-10 years with their plans to make this a 10 million city without building a subway?

Never heard of "ECUM Coffee Group", made a quick search on some Danish websites,, no results and no companies with even remotely similar sounding names. Oh well,, that's 10 mins of my life I am never getting back.

Went there yesterday and it totally made my week. Nice decor and friendly staff and a real salad bar. Sadly we both wanted mexican food so I can't really say much about their other courses. The food was great but just a tad spicier would have improved the dish. The best thing was that we almost had the place to ourselves and we could have a quiet conversation without shouting, spitting Chinese people in the background. I realised how much I had missed that since coming here.

We went to Chicago Coffee a couple of days ago and it was a nice experience. The place is cozy with soft comfy chairs (I realized how much I have missed one since coming here) and they have a nice little collection of English language books in the corner consisting mainly of classics and travel litterature. I was looking forward to trying their advertized tortilla bar but it wasn't up and running that evening.

Instead we went for 2 12 inch pizzas -roast chicken and pepperoni- but we quickly realized that 1 would have been enough. Those things are heavy. I am mainly into Italian style pizza but Chicago's double layered pizzas are well worth a try. Their coffee seems to be a bit on the expensive side but people say good things about it and they have got a nice selection. I wouldn't mind dropping by again some day,, hopefully when they've got the tortilla thing going. English speaking staff btw.
