I'm not currently planning any domestic train travel, but the above information is good to know.

It is at Number 10 Wenchang Road. 文昌路10号。 This is a small street that enters the north side of Yi Er Yi Dajie 一二一大街 between Dongfeng Donglu 东风东路 and Beimen Jie 北门街。
You can see it on Baidu Maps by typing in the search phrase" 昆明市一二一大街火车票售票处"。
There are many others in central Kunming a short bus ride away if you cannot locate that one.

The CNAC exhibit, which is on display now, February 2009, is extremely intersting and well done. Worth a trip. The museum charges no admission and the Number 1 Kunming bus goes there.

It's 收废品 for the people who ride around on the 3-wheel bikes 三轮车 and collect broken appliances. I'm not sure of the term for the smaller-scale "dumpster divers."
