The beer is just so good. 13 to 14 different kinds of the beer on the menu everyday. Beef pizza is delicious as always. And the store is spacious. Also there is a projector that you can use, its good to invite a few friends of yours to get together to watch a moive or somthing, you name it.

The beer is very good, Raspberry Cider is always my favourite. Also the beer is on sale recently, its buy two get one free. The prices are reasonable, 40 kuai for 500ml, and 188 kuai for 3L. Tacos are amazing, its different from the soft tortillas that Ive ever had, its hard and crisp, with Thai style sauce on top, just worth trying. Always enjoy Sandra and Roberto's performances on Wednesdays and Thurdays .

SUMMARY
Just popped in for the annual to biennial visa health check. Cost was CNY 487 - don't forget to bring at least THREE (3) visa pictures and your mask.

As usual, there are TWO health codes to display - the usual kunming/yunnan green QR code and the green "Arrow" code.

ARRIVAL
I went late in the morning, but still managed to shuttle through all the departments and get out before lunch.

I used didi to get there and the map now correctly shows the rear parking entrance as the destination drop-off point. You can also take the subway to a nearby station, and walk walk walk walk walk - it's actually not too far but it will elevate your blood pressure and pulse (BPP) - so make sure to rest 5-10 minutes to allow your BPP to drop back to resting state.

Upon arrival at the main gate, you'll do the usual check-in procedure - mask, sign-in, green QR code, temperature check.

Once inside - Present your passport, green QR code, and green (hopefully) arrow code. Scan the QR codes on your left as you walk in if you don't have these prepared already. The staff will then pass you an application form. Walk over to the wall of stand-up desks to your right, fill out the forms, then stroll over to the clerks to present the form. They'll print out a sheet of bar coded labels for your tests, take your digital picture, attach everything together with a paper clip, then direct you to the cashier to pay CNY 487 (WeChat, alipay, bank card, etc) Don't know if they still accept cash.

HEALTH CHECKS
Hike up the the 2nd or 3rd floor to start the battery of tests:

3rd floor

Chest X-ray

Physical (height, weight, BMI/body mass index)

2nd floor

ECG

Sonogram

Urine test

Blood Test

Eye test (color blindness and eye chart)

Dental

Heart (pulse, blood pressure)

I may have missed a few like the OB GYN...

It seems they also have a COVID/NAT (nucleic acid test) center in a shipping container lab outside the health center - but I didn't bother jogging over to check if it was still operational. In retrospect, should've checked, as the hospitals are jam packed with Chinese New Year travelers.

RESULTS PICKUP
The test results are ready the afternoon of the second day. The facility seems sparsely busy even though they service both foreigners and nationals. There were rarely lines or noticeable waits beyond a few minutes, with at most 1-2 people ahead of you.

Staff are always nice, polite, professional and tirelessly patient for those of us with limited to no communications abilities.

I had a really good burger here recently. Steven, the chef, really knows what he is doing. Worth checking out. Of course, good beer, too.

I give only two stars because this is how I think about my personal experience with Yu-Cong. As a one-man-business, I tried to register a business, import products, and sell them online. It failed in the last step of the process because the government changed a policy and wouldn't give me a work permit.

This is the process for opening a business in Kunming:
1. Opening your Business

2. Monthly Accounting, and other tasks that "should" be done by the account but are also part of opening the business
3. Getting a work permit

In my case, I lost 85% of Yu-Cong total service fee because it failed in the last step, and they were unwilling to share any responsibility. I am not even talking about the additional thousands of RMB to get documents certified in my home country and shipped to China. So, if something goes wrong in the process, be sure that you will bear full responsibility.

■ What I later learned about the cost for opening a business in Kunming: Kunming is not Shanghai! You will find someone else for each step of the business opening process and accounting, who will charge you only HALF of Yu-Cong's prices. This will require some research and basic Chinese-speaking skills, but I believe is worth it eventually. Simply ask different foreign entrepreneurs with whom they are working and then compare yourself.

■ Although Yu-Congs prices are comparatively expensive, those prices should fine for any bigger businesses. Max's great English skills will make it a lot easier for you and I believe that overall Yu-Cong is reliable and professional.

■ Finally, what I learned from trying to do business in China: If you don't have several thousand USD cash, a clear business idea that has realistic chances to work in the Chinese market, at least a Bachelor degree, basic Chinese language knowledge, the willingness to continuously learn Chinese and a lot of patience and endurance - please don't even consider doing business in China!

If there's anybody in Kunming that is looking for a new place to go that serves good quality western food, I would like to recommend that they try Fürst Carl Hausbrauerei & Schankstube! Fürst Carl is a German restaurant/brewery that has a great selection of German dishes, as well as many other kinds of western food! I personally have tried many of the items from the menu, and have yet to be disappointed! Here are some of my own personal favourites:

1. The Prince Burger: This Australian Angus beef burger stacked with an egg & a slice of smoked pork belly, topped with cheddar cheese & drizzled with a special house-made burger sauce inside of an English muffin also comes with a side of fries, and is a great choice for anybody that has a large appetite, as well as anybody that has a preference for high protein eats...it is well deserving of the crown as the best burger in the town!

2. The Meat Lasagna: This extra thick lasagna is stuffed with finely ground beef & is smothered in swathes of warm red pasta sauce; it is a great choice for anybody that is looking to devour something decadent & delicious!

3. The Buddha Bowl: This nourishing synthesis of vegetation is a feast for the eyes as much as it is for the belly with it's healthy mix of green & purple veggies, as well as crunchy clusters of roasted chickpeas, sunflower seeds & pumpkin seeds, and it is filled to the brim with energizing nutrients & invigorating minerals; this one is a great choice for anybody that is looking for something vegan-friendly that is clean, green & rejuvenating to graze on!

They also have some good snack foods, such as spring rolls, and a fruit platter, as well as some great sandwiches...go on and see for yourself!

Price is now 100RMB for adults, 70RMB for children.
Some of the animal areas are as far as 10+km from the entrance - you can buy a hop on/off bus ticket for 60RMB per person, but there are also clearly marked walkways for those who are full of energy.

Everything inside is pretty expensive - consider bringing a picnic.

Many of the animals are in large outdoor enclosures. Some are caged. The park calls itself a safari, but this is not a "drive your car amongst the animals" thing. It's more like a decent western zoo.
There are places to handle/be photographed with animals, for a fee. Also, some kids amusements.
The animal show is free, but a waste of time (unless you love watching goats, sheep, pigs, horses etc!!).
Good labelling i English thorughout.
