Kunming's cultural diversity, walking street network and fair weather make it a very enjoyable city. Right now one of the city's most iconic buildings are the home to the newly opened Moon & Chalice Boutique Hotel. Narrow, yellow and crescent-shaped, this mid-20 century French edifice commemorates the Allies’ victory in WWll. Its owner and interior designer, also masterminded the Silver Chest Boutique Hotel. With 14 years’ experience in hospitality and a major in Cross Cultural Management, she possesses the sensibility to respect and bring out the building’s personality. Her interior design approach nimbly combines seemingly antagonist elements: vintage and modern, east meets west.

The hotel consists of two sections, the west building and the east building. Each building has 3 floors. The lobby is located on the first floor of the west building. On the second floor of this building there is a common area where guests are welcome to read, relax and hold meetings. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the east building. The rest of each of the buildings' space are boutique guest rooms.
