Starbucks (Shuncheng Plaza)
Starbucks coffee is not good.
Starbucks environment is a void.
One big hassle you will find if you go there is that, in order drink the coffee, you have to enter Starbucks.
From what I can tell, If you like Justin Beiber, think cola is a drink, enjoy the TV Friends, think coffee =milk and sugar, and have an IQ below 80, you will love Starbucks. Please go there and remain there after they close.

Wow! Great addition to Kunming on two accounts...
1. Great outdoor seating in the heart of Kunming - 20 tables! Too bad Kunming doesn't have more outside seating to take advantage of the superb Kunming weather...
2. Love the coffee. A step u from the existing coffee houses. Unlike many so-called coffee houses their focus is actually coffee!
Still room for 5 star coffee houses in Kunming....just haven't seen one yet...Too bad Wenhua Shen / Wenlin Jie was never allowed to develop to it's potential with outdoor seating rather than the "Gang" of illegal vendors that have consumed the street.
Effectively hassle free environment, good coffee, lots of outdoor seating, multiple plugs for wireless internet, impeccably clean environment (inside/outside/bathrooms) with good air conditioning inside for a hot day. Nice to see the madness surrounding the soft opening subside - service has definitely improved since the first few days..

The coffee there is not that good, and it's even more expensive than the one I had in Beijing. The service sucks. But a lot of Chinese people stand in line waiting for one cup of coffee...

It's easy to get money from Chinese people, especially for the rural area city such as Kunming.

Was very disappointed with my first Chinese Starbucks experience. My chicken panini was served frozen and my grande cappuccino was half full. The cakes and pastries looked delicious and were affordable, but the poor service and indifferent, confused waitrons make me reluctant to go back.
