Those of you missing the great food and drinks sold in countless Australian and New Zealand cafes, bakeries and wine bars will find a slice of heaven in Kunming. Every day we bake bread, pizzas, cakes, pies and cookies for you to enjoy. Our drinks bar has locally sourced teas and our own specially roasted Baoshan coffee. Agree with the previous review. It's 20 kuai for a pretty good pizza. You're already getting a bargain, and if you're that hard up that you don't want to pay an extra 10 kuai or so for a drink, there's a mixian place just a two minute walk up the street.
'We do not have a notice in the cafe forbidding customers from bringing in drinks from outside. We think this is a common courtesy'.
Absolutely. Unfortunately there are many people in Kunming who lack basic manners.

Slice of Heaven has some nice food, its very clean and comfortable and the staff try very hard to please. I can understand Barbara is trying to run a business and it's her right to set the pricing. A large pizza for 20 quai was a bargain for sure. Obviously it was not a money maker without other sales. Anyone can be brisk from time to time but generally I think it's a good place.
I don't drink alcohol at all and was surprised that the place was 1/2 empty on a Friday night. The change in policy reflects a decent establishment trying to stay in business. We should support this nice little respite.

Had sometime to drop by quickly for some breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere ordered the focaccia sandwich which was nice with the chutney and had a cup of coffee that hit the spot. Both came promptly and were delicious. Didn't get to spend too much time due to an appointment but glad I got a chance to make it out. Will return.

Slice of Heaven's pizza came highly recommended, so we went significantly out of our way to find it. The food itself was pretty good (not the best I've had in China, but certainly not the worst), but the attitude of the proprietress was gruff and, at times, openly disdainful. She huffed audibly when we didn't want to order liquor (as anyone who's worked in restaurants knows, liquor is the money maker; but that doesn't mean I have to start drinking it in order to eat at your restaurant). The food took about 45 minutes to arrive (an indication of either poor management of resources or improper staff training, in my experience; Mike's Pizza in Chengdu, for example, is much busier but is managed well, so you get your pizza quickly), but we were happy enough to eat it and made no complaints. We were pleasantly surprised when paying the bill to find out that the restaurant was running a special that gave us a great discount—but later, the owner had the audacity to complain that we didn't spend enough money in her establishment. She thus guaranteed that I will never spend money there again.
If you don't mind a condescending, bad attitude and incredibly slow service, do it up.

Pizza is quite good. Our favorite is the bacon and pineapple—tastes just like a Hawaiian pizza. Good beer selection. We'd love it if they would stock an IPA. Bring your patience when you come. It took about an hour to get our food, but it was worth it! 20 kuai Fridays are a crazy good deal for pizza.
