Black Dragon Pool Park usually gets mentioned alongside Kunming tourism heavyweights like the Stone Forest, Bamboo Temple and the Western Hills — but often at the end of the list and without much accompanying detail.
The park's best features are its spaciousness and abundance of trees and shrubs, including an adjacent un-landscaped forest that is crisscrossed with walking paths.
Temple buildings, old gates and the pond itself are quite nice as well.
black Dragon Pool Park is located in the north of Kunming, adjacent to the Botanical Gargens.

Black Dragon Pool Park
Far out, less people. Big enough to get lost in. Pretty and quiet near dusk. 20yuan entrance fee.
Black Dragon Pool Park
Definitely worth a visit, but if you're there for the people-watching, places like Guandu Old Town are far better, and if you're there for the nature or the serenity, you'd be much better off going to the Bamboo temple or the Western Hills. Though far from awesome, the Black Dragon Pool Park still makes for an entertaining day trip in a part of Kunming most would never see otherwise.
