I get get burned out with that backwoods, fresh out of the hills peasant mindset that believes all food has to be drenched in greasy oil and then topped off with all manner of red peppers and huojiao. And this same food must be eaten at every meal, every day of your life until you die. It's really boring. BORING!
BillDan, perhaps Taco Bell would be more suitable to your tastes?
@BillDan: Agree with your post 100%
Here we go again... mm vs. BillDan in a cage match.
will crappy western food or crappy chinese food win this battle?
and .... do you guys think about anything else besides food?
Sir John Bagot Glubb wrote - The Fate of Empires and Search for Survival. In his book he talks about the lifecycle of historical empires. He claims that the average lifespan of an empire is 250 years and that it goes through 6 stages.
I was very surprised to find obsession with food at the top of the list.
Stage 6 is the Age of Decadence in which there is:
Obsession with food and Chefs
I'm a spice lover too, and even though the Dai food is sometimes a bit much for me, it's a fun treat. The food is definitely one of the perks of being in Yunnan, though I start craving non-oily stuff after a while. Up for a big Dai feast in a couple of weeks?
mm, i'm not harassing you. i knew the main reason you started this thread was not to discuss spicy food, but to create yet another chance for people to complain about the food so you can attack them and continue your crusade.
billdan fell right into your trap and you proved me right.
religious cults should hire you. you strongly believe in your convictions, you're extremely persistent in trying to convert others to your beliefs, and the end justifies the means.
Elisa, I am always up for a spicy Dai feast!
Magnifico, no offense, you are starting to sound like a crazy person rambling about conspiracies. I can assure you that I started this thread to talk about spicy food. BillDan made his usual overdone rant, and I answered in kind, but it was good-natured, and BillDan knows that.
I will not say this again: please stop disrupting and derailing my threads, and please stop personally harassing me. Thank you.
But what does Taco Bell have to do with spicy food?
So you started the thread to talk about spicy food.
But as an extra bonus, you're going to continue to harass anyone who criticizes Chinese food and proselytize, right?
And why is it so important for you to convince everyone to adopt the exact same views that you have about food?
If you can answer this question, I'll stop posting in your threads. Promise.
