It's mostly the older crowd that is feeding the trolls, the trolls are posting the most ridiculous things. Yet the older crowd feels the need to reply just to show that they are correct.

Take for example the Topic:"Why do miserable foreigners remain in China?"

That question can ONLY be answered by the "miserable foreigner". Who ever that may be. So why start a topic like that when you know darn well the "miserable foreigner" is not going to reply and say: "I'm a miserable foreigner and I stay in China because ..."
It's all relative. People who are miserable usually don't think they are miserable so even if they see a topic like this, they won't be replying as such. So what happens is that the thread literally becomes an endless thread with little value.

Magnifico, I am not a troll. I genuinely have these opinions about food and foreigners. If I were a troll, I would not actually believe these things. Please stop calling me a troll, because it is simply not true. It is personal attacks, such as those you launch against me, that degrades these threads.

@OP, if a social platform only had members who go in pairs, always agreeing with each other, repeating the exact same idea as the other using different formulations, and making sure to laugh every time the other posts a joke, it will always remain in stagnation and never achieve growth. This place is a business. It's obviously looking to expand and there were plans that were announced to make it even more exposed to a larger audience, so it's eventually going to attract a lot more people who will make posts aimed at an audience that is younger, who will not always behave like how other members and their forum buddies expected, or who will not always agree with those members' opinions. It would probably be more mature not to complain about it while expecting this change to grow even bigger as the site expands.

Obviously there are rules on this website, and people can't write whatever they want here, but they are free to start threads and find allowed topics that aren't going to be of interest to those who are undesired in their club.

I definitely second Liumingke1234's comment with a STRONG EMPHASIS on the words "DEGENERATION" / "DETERIORATION".
I have considered several times to just leave the forum because of all the name-calling and off-topic unfounded arguments that add up to countless posts.

i would say if you spend all day in a forum arguing about your life you are just plain miserable. especially if you take forums really that serious.

if you think gokmg forums are that empty and rough then check out forums around the globe.
gokmg is remarkebly civil and informative.

There's really nothing "to grasp". It's not that complicated. I'm sure nobody here "spends all day in a forum". It's merely an observation I felt the need to voice since Gokunming is usually the only best choice for expats to inquire or give voice to there ideas, ideals and opinions.

but what difference does it make if we argue equally ineffective and silly without getting to a result, only by changing the topics.
it's not a gokmg phenomena but of the whole internet.
as i said try to other forum in other countries even the most trivial ones and people insulting the posters almost immediately.
i wanted to check a few threads about baby formula, you wouldn't believe the stuff people post there.
