hi, does anyone know of a market that sells seedlings? the bird and flower market has gourds, but not really much else. i would like vegetables mostly. and peppers

A place locates North, called Longtoujie Market(龙头街菜市场), every Thursday there may be some. Usually 1.5yuan/bag. U may wanna take a look over there.

The market in MaJie has seedlings. I am sure I have seen eggplant and a few others. The market is on the other side of the construction from the West Bus Station.

Near the corner of Ma Jie Middle Road + Chun Yu Road. This is the same road where you find Yun An Hui Du - the Hot Spring Resort. This is the corner where buses get on the onramp to the highway to Dali. You will see the big white dome that clearly stands out. This hot sprng has 2 outdoor pools and 2 indoor heated pools.

Bird and Flower market has seeds of many types in the small booths by the old orginal building where most of the live plants are.

strang that such a big city, and so hard to find some pretty normal things. not interested in seeds, i can get them at bird and flower or taobao. seedlings i need.

It's like any Chinese city, you can't find the one item you want unless you find the single street all the vendors are on are on, and then you have ten choices of the same thing.

I think mitty_Abby is correct that market did have a couple of vendors, but it is only once a week and snakes along a very long portion of that road. However, there has been a lot of construction along there so not sure if the market is still up and running or maybe whole sections are gone.
