I just open a board games place, it is called 格门(gemen) Game Café it is at 136 wenlin jie (opposite prague café).

It is a place where you can come to play board games. We already have more than 20 different games available and soon we will have a few board game for sale as well.

You can buy poker chips (or dice) in the bird and flower market. It's a bit hard to explain, but one of the sellers there sells mahjong, poker chips, maybe even chess. I believe you can buy chess at carrefour/metro/walmart in the children's game section, but don't quote me on it. There is a Chinese version of monopoly (I think all the streets are labeled after Hong Kong streets) that I used to see all the time being sold on the street in Shanghai, but I'm not sure where you can find it here.

Pretty darn expensive, but here are the board games available at Toys R Us in Chongqing (and most likely the same prices in other Chinese cities for Toys R Us):

Monopoly 140rmb
Scrabble 240rmb
Chess 50rmb

You can buy some board games in the toys store on the 5th floor of Parksons. They are expensive but they have them. We got Life and Risk. They also had Monopoly and a few others.
