Protests in Bangkok and it's surrounds cause government to react:
"Thailand declared a state of emergency in Bangkok and nearby provinces to deal with protesters who have blockaded parts of the capital in a bid to force Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to step down.
The action will be in force for 60 days, beginning Wednesday. Generally, emergency decrees give security authorities power to detain suspects without charge, censor media, impose curfews and ban political gatherings of more than five people."

Sound like any other day in China. lol
Gatherings of five or more in China are "legal" - you just need to apply for a "permit"...
"just" is funny. any idea how hard it is to get them?
plus i am pretty sure that "any" political gatherings are forbidden in china if not sanctioned by the party.
promotion events and other parties sometimes need those permits and to get those is a nightmare. if you get them at all.
i.m not interested in politics or gatherings. i just thought it's funny that a state of emergency in thailand has the same implications as china on a normal work day. lol
So you wonder if China was like Thailand is normally would it also be in chaos?
In my opinion the most chaotic picture you could imagine,of people trying their president to step down in Thailand wouldn't even shake the crazy you can see almost daily when one of those farmer uprisings or "minor" anti japanese events go on here. they almost lead to the same body count.
so to compare the chais level of those two places is impossible.
last time a protest happened in bangkok the police let protesters enter the police station they sieged.
which is the smartest tactical move i have ever seen.
imagine that here. plus there are more uprising and death from uprisings everyday in China than Thailand could ever have. We just don't hear about it. Thats chaotic enough for my taste.
thailand's tactics have been smarter than escalation policies in the western world. sure it can go violent and belly up again but let.s hope not.
