Milk delivery?

mPRin (821 posts) • 0

When I was in Hebei I would get milk delivery every morning. It was nice to wake up and have fresh milk for my cereal and coffee.
Anyone have any idea where I can order this here?
Thanks in advance!

I don't have an answer, but the service dies exist in Kunming, so rest assured you are not chasing shadows. Walking around your accommodation and look for empty/full yog pots on peoples mail boxes might be a start.

sorry, don't know. i try to avoid milk because i'm lactose intolerant.
coconut milk is better than regular milk in several ways (if you don't mind paying much more).
- longer shelf life so you can stock up
- healthier
- tastes better (to me, anyway).

Hey mPRin,

When I moved into my apartment back in August, it was set up for milk delivery. It had a small metal box bolted to the wall outside my front door and I had been given a key to it. In one of the kitchen cupboards, I found two pint-sized milk bottles. My teacher told me that I could call and arrange milk delivery. I don't drink milk often enough warrant daily delivery, so I still get mine from the store.

In any case, this metal box has a phone number written on it: 13577004895. Everything else is in Chinese...which I can't read. (I'll try snapping a picture and linking it here, later.)

Hope this helps.

@Alien, have you been drinking? We're talking about milk, not wine.

@jopasny,

1 - many people have lactose intolerance. personally, when i drink too much cow milk I get bad sinus headaches.

2 - I've read some studies that suggest pasteurization is not healthy (which all cow milk is unless you get it directly from a farm), but i'm not a scientist so I don't not for sure.
3 - But even in terms of nutritional breakdown alone, coconut milk kicks cow milk's ass.

coconutoilbenefits.biz/coconut-milk-vs-cows-milk/

Coconut milk has more vitamin C, Vitamin E, vitamin B1, vitamin B3 (niacin) than cow's milk. In terms of minerals coconut milk has more phosphorous, potassium, selenium, iron and magnesium. Coconut milk is much lower in sodium than cow's milk.

Cow's milk has more vitamin B6 and vitamin B5 than coconut milk. In most other respects cow's milk is inferior to coconut milk in terms of the mineral and vitamin breakdown.

Another point worth making is that both cow's milk and coconut milk are high in saturated fat. The key difference is that coconut milk contains saturated fat that is mostly composed of medium chain fatty acids that are readily metabolized by the body. The saturated fat in cow's milk contains a lot of long chain fatty acids that in comparison that are not readily broken down by the body and turned to energy.

Coconut milk and coconut oil contains lauric acid the same as mother's milk. Lauric acid is responsible for making mother's milk capable of protecting an infant from viral, protozoal, fungal and bacterial infection. Coconut milk can provide the same protection for adults. This alone makes coconut milk superior to cow's milk.

If anyone is interested in ordering farm milk (raw and lightly pasteurized available) from a farm using all-natural feed for the cattle, PM me for details. It gets delivered to Kunming weekly.

I guess it's down to why you are drinking milk for. Taste? Vitamins? Calcium? Protein? Fat loss? Weight gain? Blood sugar control?
I personally prefer almond milk with a scoop of whey, since I am lactose intolerant. It's low in carbs and good for the heart.

There's goat milk now available at Walmart.
