Hi, I just moved in an apartment and in the apartment I got this huge windows, approximately 4-5m curtains I need to cover since in the afternoon I have this strong sun shining in my place.
Do you guys know where I can buy curtains? I've been looking for awhile without success.

They are everywhere in Kunming. There are at least three shops on Xiaokang Dadao in the North.
What neighborhood are you?
There are curtain places at the decoration stores area YunFang, next to the HuangChengNan Lu and HaiGeng Lu Carrefour.
South West and on Xiyuan Lu, on the N side around about AnKang Lu, you will see a Boloni kitchen showrooms (big), behind that is a kitchen decoration area. Keep your eyes up and you will see some curtain places on the 2nd floor of the small units.
Also there is a big curtains area in the south near DaXiangHui of GuangFuLu
Or you could even get some made at the numerous street stalls where you see them mending clothes etc.
The advantages of going to a curtain shop is that they will have a choice of materials, and choice of linings, there are at least 3 grades of blackout.
They will also come and install curtain track and fit the curtains for you.
Cheap blackout is plastic like shower curtain, and rustles, expensive is soft touch and quieter.
Shop around, some places have higher rent and charge 2-3x as much as others.
I have one following question; If I want to buy a curtain and I want them to come over and put it up etc. How much does it usually cost?
I live quite close to Yunnan Normal University on 121 street.
I'm just looking for a good but cheap curtain, since I'm just staying here for one year.
Not sure where are the shops in that area, but the installation is normally included in the price.
You can get curtains done at 是一家具 (11 Furniture) at their shop in 小四门。 I have no idea of prices just noticed the display.

At O-Park in the south. West of Qianxing road. (O-Park East of the road has everything else for your house.). At the east side are about 25 curtain shops.
A cheap option is to buy rolling down bamboo curtains. Can be found at the same place.

You might want to ask a local friend to have a close look at the quality. I had no complaints with that though. It was very good and just as pictured. I was pleasantly surprised by their service too. Only downside is that they needed one week to come after ordering.
