Are you studly enough?
there's probably going to be a lot of people going to Dali during the mid-autumn festival.
for restaurants, there are some Dali restaurants listed on this site with reviews.
Bakery 88 has some good baked goods and sandwiches you can take with you if you go cycling or hiking.

There's also Climb Dali if you're into climbing...

Different strokes for different folks. If your idea of fun is going to restaurants to eat western food or sitting at a bar to drink - then no need to waste time or money because you can do that where you are right now.
I provided two links. One for climbing. The other for Bakery 88 because they have sandwiches, which might be convenient for someone who's out cycling or hiking all day.
I wouldn't recommend that someone go to Dali just for restaurants, unless there's some amazing local food that I'm not aware of.
Personally, I just love being in Dali because of the scenery and beautiful buildings. It's a relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful place to unwind.
I found the local food in Dali to be pretty unsurprising. And toilet trip treatment. Like said, different strokes for different folks. I like a option for western food, and to sit in a bar and chill. Harder to chill on wenlin, too much traffice and hawkers.
