I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a specific police station that deals with foreign registration in the xoshan district?

Your apartment will be in the zone of a particular Police Station, 派出所. You need to find that station and register there.
To add to above comment, it's not always the nearest paichusuo. If your landlord doesn't know which one covers your apartment, try asking one of the guards, your neighbors, or look for posters/signs nearby your apartment, often with a cartoon policeman or Chinese government seal, that usually contain the name of the local paichusuo that posted them.
Thanks for the info guys
Don't forget they're gonna want some stuff from you. If memory serves me, my local police station needs at time of first registration:
-Actual passport
-2x (maybe only one, I always forget) photocopies passport photo page
-2x photocopies passport page showing most recent China entry stamp
-2x photocopies passport page containing current Chinese visa
-Photocopy of apartment rental contract w/ landlord name, ID number and contact phone number (last time they couldn't read my landlord's handwriting, but luckily I had all that info stored on my phone).
-2x color passport photos
I just registered recently at mine. Just need your passport, one photo, and rental contract. If you go to the wrong paichusuo, they can tell you which is the correct one, but outside of giving you the phone number for the correct one, you have to call and ask them for address. Good chinese required for that.
The management office of your community should know that.
