Yep 7pm, things start up again. A lot of places open till 9 or 10pm. Some night markets. Night clubs and bars till very late.

This is China. The world stops for food at 12 noon and 6pm. You can almost set your watch by it. The two guys beating each other probably stopped for noodles.

Beating in public? Not bad. Secretly at home (men beating women en women beating men too) that's worse cause no one knows and can intervene. Just my opinion.

PS: guys always beat each other here. Mostly just hyrarchy play like animals do. Seen parking attendants, real estate agents, and a bunch more do it. It's tradition.

PS: here everything is open after 6pm. Clothing stores, restaurants, bars, clubs, cinema (all day), supermarket till 9pm. Most stores are open till 10 pm. Corner market till 11.30pm - good for midnight ice cream if it's too hot to sleep.

Guys always beating each other happens everywhere in the world. But it usually stops when the police arrives. Here, they wait until it escalates and then the bribing negotiations start. The most effective police I've seen so far was in England. Only 2 minutes into a domestic argument and the couple were already on their way to the station.

Even when men beat women in public, nobody intervenes either here. They stand in a semi-circle and watch the scene.

Fight? In Guangdong, in 2 minutes someone will have 'opened a book' and will start laying odds.

Trash out of the car-window, why not? Someone else will come along and clean it.

... and if not, just gotta wait long enough and it will stop by itself.
