Seems simple, I know, but I have looked in about 5 stationary shops already and haven't found any. Anyone know where to get them? (And what they're called in Chinese?)

Are you asking about Chinese flashcards? They have them at the Xinhua bookstores. 卡片学习。If you're looking for index cards so you can do your own flashcards, they don't sell them here in Kunming. I've been to many stationary stores and none had them. You can however buy sheets of cardboard stock and they can cut it for you. Another thing you can try is go to a place that makes business cards and tell them you just want to buy a set of blank cards. That's what I did once before.
You can buy it from Internet. Www.taobao.com
Ive never bought Flashcards in Kunming, but in my experience from Beijing, university library bookstores (usually near or in the library) have the best selection of HSK study books/pre printed cards.
Ive now moved away from Flashcards however and use the Pleco app which has great spaced repetition software & you can either make your own cards or download cards off the net.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm looking for index cards, so I guess I'm out of luck unless I use taobao. Might try to buy some blank business cards, that's a good suggestion!
There's an upscale Japanese department store, known for selling generics and green products (mugi? mugen?) can't remember the name - but they have a rather low-key stationery section which sells, amongst other things - flash cards on key rings. I forgot the price, but it's rather nominal. The cards are roughly 2cm x 5cm. I buy these for my kids to study math (formulas) and English (vocabulary) - eventually I'll go high-tech like @jrez24, but not until they move to a school with fewer class thieves (like dianchi).
