so...feeling like people are all assholes? well, sorry, that's the way the world is going. It's becoming more and more this way. Assholes are plentiful. Cool people are becoming rare...pretty soon they will be gone...forever. Have fun. Take each day by day. Live your life while you have it. Tomorrow is a dream...yesterday is a nightmare.

Not any nice people around anymore

Oh dear! Obviously you guys haven't met the right people. I must be very lucky to be surrounded by such lovely people and most people I have met in Kunming are just delightful.

Hope you meet some nice 'cool' people soon as there ARE so many around. Life IS what you make it xx

I believe that you find the type of people you look for. If all you find are "assholes" - - perhaps you are also an "asshole"
And - - makes no difference what country you are in - - can still find type of people you are looking for - - and this observation from 71 years of experience. Cheers

I think some of the "assholes" that you are referring to are just cultural differences. Not being used to or understanding the differences can get you fustrated. "Assholes" come from ALL countires.
