Hi there

I am moving to Kunming as a English teacher next week and really need to find a good gym which has western standards.
Does anyone have any recommendations in terms of gyms and the cost of a year contract as I don't mind paying a little extra if it means that it is better than average.
Also if there are no gyms in Yunnan then where else can you go?

Any information would be really appreciated thanks.

your best bet regarding quality/standards is to ask around once you get here. i think you'll find something that suits you.

expect to pay somewhere around 1000 kuai per year.

i paid 880Y for Impulse Gym which is listed in the link above. They have some basic classes, yoga, pilates, spinning, aerobics. The aerobic classes usually have some sort of dance involved. The equipment is fine, except the ellipticals are shoddy.

I visited Powerhouse Gym also, they were the best I saw but too expensive for me. The bus route stops right in front of both gyms.
