Hello!
I am currently living in Kunming, but I have a dog back in the States. I would love to bring her over, but I haven't found consistent information about pet traveling options. Does anyone have insight?
Thanks!

While your dog is in the US, I would get her chipped and whatever else is necessary for the return trip home later on.
Some info, but no clear answers on USA to China.

Thank you for the help, AlexKMG!
Did you ever manage to bring your dog from the US? I am currently living in kunming and trying to do the same thing but i also have not found consistent information as to the best and cheapest way of doing so that will keep my pup out of quarantine.
You can bring a dog a into China. A friend just brought his Great Dane certified rescue dog to Guangzhou. The dog works with autistic children and was the first of its type into China. It was very interesting to share the plane with Max across the Pacific Ocean for 15 hours. The owner had to pay for three seats I think.
When we brought our two cats from Canada the travel agent recommended Korean Airlines. We were able to check them in at the Toronto Airport and pick them up in Kunming, which did not have quarantine facilities in 2010. I don't know if they do now. Going that way we avoided the possibility of a quarantine in Beijing or Shanghai since Kunming was the first port of entry to China. They did NOT fly with us in the passenger cabin.
