yankee, why is it ok for people to state boldly that all Chinese beer is brewed from formaldehyde, methanol, and human faeces, yet if someone asks for the evidence, you only oppose the latter? I am no fan of Chinese beer, but I can assure you that it is not brewed with methanol, formaldehyde, and human faeces.
Okay.
Now let's stop going off topic.
@yankee00 - that sounds like the shop.
it's a great little shop that i've mentioned in the past. to get there turn left on Beijing lu onto linyu lu. cross the river and pass Carnival shopping centre. take the second (small) right. follow the road around to the left and you'll see it on your left after a few hundred meters. they've started to stock fresh milk and yogurt from a dairy in Yiliang county... both are pretty good and the basic Cheddar type cheese is the cheapest around (even if not the best cheese in China).
@debaser
What price is the Cheddar going for?
I much prefer Beer Lao to Tsingtao. With Tsingtao i'm having to pee every five minutes and to be fair it's nothing more than fizzy water. I'm no beer connoisseur btw, not even a fan of beer really. Give me Tequila any day!
Why is Chinese beer SO weak? Or is it an Asian thing?
@mPRin
i can't remember the price but i know it was around half the price of the Wicker Basket at the time i first bought it there.
Nice. Sounds like it's worth a trip to the north tomorrow. Cheddar, sliced bread from Wicker Basket, in the oven. Can't wait!

I forgot where I read or heard it, but it's mainly because they like to have light beer to accompany meals with friends, rather than have beer on its own while relaxing.
