See only very old posts on this topic, except for one questionable post from a user with no other posts, which I suspect might be an adbot. Nothing since the recent crakcdonws began before the conrgess last fall.
Its been all over the international news that Chaina is seriously cracking down on vee pee enn services nationwide. I've certainly noticed the decline in performance in my own (I've been using wiitoopeeah for the last 2 years) in these last few months.
Mine is expiring soon and I'm thinking about switching if there are any better options out there that have been performing better.
Realize this is a senseteve subject, hence the distoorted spelling. Suggest anyone who reply to this thread do the same.
ayyyyyy tink yeeeee got a hankereeeeen fur da hiiiiigh seeeeeeees me matey. arrrrrrrrrr.
Astrill. Noone who I know that uses them has ever complained to me.
And it seems like this topic is covered every week on GoKM. Search better.
@blobbles
Trust me, I did a search, there were four threads, and they were all ancient. Some mention was made of any thread containing the magic three letters being deleted by the moderators
VPN.................this message will self destruct in 3, 2, 1.......................
I've got the same service as the original poster, also expiring soon. Service lately has been erratic (I prefer erotic), but the problems apparently affect ALL providers.
I left my connection on last night and it's still active this morning. At other times it will drop in just a few minutes. Annoying, but if all providers have the same problem then price may be the only difference.
I've also noticed at times (like afternoon) the response times are pathetically slow even without the Vee Pee Enn.
Sorry Gregomatt, you are probably right!
Not all VPN services are created the same. Don't let them fool you when they say this. There are MANY things the providers can do to make their service reliable, I won't go into them here, but trust me (as an IT guy that has set up VPN's before for businesses), its akin to the number of ways to cook an egg.
Throughout the past few months, I have only experienced a slow down using Astrill and that was for a few days only. At all other times it has been full speed ahead, I have been downloading large files (>500MB) within about 15-20mins using their service quite often. That isn't slow. The last time I did this was yesterday.
I use ExpressVPN. Sometimes one or two connection methods will have problems, but I'm always able to connect one way or another in a few minutes.
Some locations are slow, but after trying a few I'm usually able to get 4 to 6.5 mbps. 6.5 is my max internet speed so obviously I can't complain.
I've also noticed it's harder to connect while using torrents, or after using any google service.
I have not had a weepy end for some time now. All I seem to get are friends requests from people I have not heard of, and recommendations for a job I did 5 years ago, from people I have not seen for 5 years. I suppose they are expecting me to recommend them in reciprocation. Some of them, no way!
